DELE Exam Center in Coronado-San José, Costa Rica

DELE stands for: Diploma del Español como Lengua Extranjera or Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language. These certifications are granted by Instituto Cervantes from Spain and you can get your DELE at Academia Tica! The school has been an official DELE Exam Center since 2013.

Starting on 2024, the DELE certificates are issued digitally to abreviate the time from taking the test to having the certificate, for those that need to use the certificate for school or work purposes.

We highly, highly recommend to take a DELE preparation course and also have a level test with enough time so you know what is the best level of DELE to take (or to plan to prepare for the one you want). Remember these certificates do not expire, that’s why the difficulty level is high (for each level). Contact us for testing your current level and if you are interested in a preparation course.

2025 DELE Exam dates

These will be our 2025 DELE exam dates (on parenthesis are the registration limit and levels offered):

  • April 4 (register until Feb. 12, levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1)
  • May 24 (register until April 9, all levels)
  • July 11 (register until May 14, levels: A2, B1, B2, C1)
  • November 22 (register until Oct. 8, all levels)

DELE Exam registration procedure

DELE Exam registration is very easy and can be done in person at the school or by email. In a nutshell, what you’ll need to send for registering is:

Exam prices depend on the level you are taking and are as follows:

  • A1 – $105
  • A2 – $110
  • B1 – $130
  • B2 – $150
  • C1 – $165
  • C2 – $180

For school levels (“escolares”) recommended for students up to 15 years of age:

  • A1 – $105
  • A2/B1 – $130
  • Very important! You should take the exam at a level where you feel comfortable. If you are not sure, you can schedule a free Zoom call with our coordinators to assess your level of Spanish before registering.
