“I studied for eight weeks at Academia Tica and I had the most amazing time practicing my favorite language, meeting new people from all over the world and exploring beautiful Costa Rica. The lessons were great and very well organized. There is a lot of speaking involved in the classes, so my Spanish improved in a short time period. The teachers are very enthusiastic and willing to teach. They are very open to other cultures and they show a lot of interest in them.

I always enjoyed sitting around a table with people from different cultures and discuss subjects about differences and similarities between those countries. For me that was one of the most important parts of my stay in Costa Rica: meeting new people and discover how they see the world around them. That really has broadened my vision of life and it makes you really open to other cultures.

Thanks to my teachers and my experiences outside of school, I really learned a lot about Costa Rica. The ticos I met were nice and I think even though Costa Rica has only 4 million inhabitants, it’s really forward striving in a lot of ways. As for me, the most beautiful thing was that a lot of people have respect for nature.

Costa Rica has a great diversity of landscapes. On the west side you have the Pacific Ocean and in the east you can relax at the Caribbean Sea, which is completely different from the pacific side. The national parks are definitely worth a visit, as you can observe wild life and enjoy great hikes. I’ve seen volcanos, waterfalls, natural hot springs and so much more that I can’t even describe.

When I left I realized there was still a lot left to see and discover in Costa Rica and I will definitely be back. It wouldn’t have been so great without the nice people I met and the services of the school. Finally, I’ve had so many amazing new experiences, that I will never forget and I reached my goal to improve my Spanish and I will continue to do so! Thank you Academia Tica!”
