Academia Tica Spanish School is always looking to improve the quality of its services and new ways we can reach out to the community. These are some of the things we’re currently involved in:

Academia Tica, Coronado campus has been accredited by Instituto Cervantes, which means it meets the conditions set by the Instituto Cervantes Accreditation System for Centers, the only International accreditation exclusively focused on the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.

This is the only international recognition for schools that teach Spanish. You can read more about why this is very important when studying Spanish here. Both campuses follow the same structure, method and teacher qualifications to ensure that students can study at both seamlessly.

Since 2013, the school has been part of the DELE Exam Center network across the globe. You can prepare for the DELE and take the test with us, which is a great advantage if you’re looking into getting your Spanish level certified for jobs, the university, your CV or just for fun! Academia Tica Spanish School is recognized in both campuses as Bildungsurlaub language course provider by several German states. The school has a specially prized 30-lesson course in the Coronado campus or you can take the Super Intensive Plus 20+10 course as an alternative in both locations. In our commitment to stay current with best practices in tourism, Academia Tica is an active member of Canatur or National Chamber of Tourism. The institution is responsible for promoting Costa Rica as a destination and for ensuring that we have a healthy industry and happy clients. You can learn more about what they do on Canatur’s site.

Founded in 1986 as a small school serving experts and volunteers that came to work to Central America. We still like to keep it cozy, but it’s been a long way since then! Although not a “third party recognition”, the school is proud to have more than 30 years of uninterrupted service under its belt! This would have not been possible without all the caring and enriching attitudes of thousands of students that have studied in our classrooms. Academia Tica has been chosen by Ocean College as their partner for Spanish tuition, ecotourism and other activities in their time in Costa Rica.
