What and where: Coronado

Activities

  • Visit the Centro Ecológico Natuquisa and its restaurant “Terrazas del cerco”, located in Dulce Nombre at 2 km from Academia Tica.
  • Form a group for horse back riding or take individual classes at Escuela de Equitación San Francisco. Owner is Mr Roberto Mora, located in Dulce Nombre.
  • Register in a local Gym. There is one in front of the Molino Central, another one on the south side of the church and another Gym on the main street of Coronado. Aprox monthy fee is 8.000 colones.
  • Rent a bike and in a group or individualy ride up to the Cascajal de Coronado area, a 5 km ride, up to “Soda Santa Rita”, a known typical food and rustic restaurant. Cascajal is known for its sightseeing.
  • As part of a group walk up to the Nubes and Cascajal areas. A 3 to 5 km hike.

  • Lone Star (bar – restaurante), steak house in San Francisco de Coronado, 2.5 Km. from Academia Tica,
  • Cantares (bar), 400 meters north of Catholic church.
  • Taquitos Cachi, 125 m south, 50 m west from the ICAES institute. Open Wednesday to Sunday.
  • La Hormiguita, Down town Coronado, on the main street.
  • El Molino Central, Down town Coronado.
  • Pollos Almosa, 25 m north of Catholic church.
  • La Cava del Duende, in Nubes de Coronado.
  • Cafetería Honey, 100 m North of the Banco de Costa Rica.
  • Soda Santa Rita, Cascajal, approx 5 km east from Academia Tica.
  • Kaffa Café, Students favourite
