Parent and child course starting in 2006

“Learn Spanish and have fun with your kid”
Academia Tica is proud to present its Parent and child Program.
“Learn Spanish and have fun with your kid” in tropical Costa Rica.
This program creates an experiential setting that in addition to develop Spanish proficiency, it offers ecotouristic and cultural experiences to parents interested in sharing them with their 10 to 16 year old kids. These experiences will improve general ecologic knowledge and widen their knowledge about the world at the same time that it strengthens their relationship. Parents and their kids can learn or improve their Spanish during the first hours of the morning, each one in a group at their respective level. Later they will participate in cultural and entertainment activities together that will give them an opportunity to interact, talk and really get to know each other.

Parent and Child Spanish Course schedule
Monday to Friday (2 weeks)
8:00 a.m. -   9:30 a.m.         2 x 45 minutes, Spanish lessons
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.        break
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.       learning by doing activities
12:00 a.m. -   1:00 p.m.        lunch break
Monday and Wednesday
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – cultural activities

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons free for own activities or participate in the school Free time activity program.

Spanish Course contents
Spanish lessons: Main topics are applied grammar and conversation.

Learn by doing cultural activities: 10am – 12 noon
Week 1
Monday: organic farm visit
Tuesday: Latin food cooking class
Wednesday: In-Bio biodiversity institute visit
Thursday: organic gardening
Friday: art workshop
Week 2
Monday: tree planting trip
Tuesday: fruits and vegetables of Costa Rica at the Central market
Wednesday: Coronado’s cloud forest walk
Thursday: coffee plantation visit
Friday: handicrafts workshop

Fun activities: 1pm-4 pm
Week 1
Monday: Museo del niño - Children’s museum
Wednesday: Traditional games activity
Week 2
Monday: Parque Nacional de diversions – amusement park
Wednesday: indoor soccer game

Additional information related to this course
Accommodation options are: Homestay and or apartment living in double or single rooms.

All participants get a free incoming airport transfer to the selected accommodation.

Citizens from Western Europe, USA and Japan receive automatically a 90 day visa permit upon arrival at the airport. A valid passport is required.
