Parent and Child Course

This course creates an experiential setting that in addition to develop Spanish proficiency offers ecotouristic and cultural experiences to parents interested in sharing them with their kids.

The Parent & Child Program is designed for parents with kids from 10 to 16 years of age. It consists of three main components: a Spanish course of 10 lessons per week, 10 hours of “learning by doing” activities per week and 6 hours of fun or sports activities. This program starts the first Monday of every month. The only requirement is the desire of sharing quality time.

Academia Tica offers a program where parents and their children can learn or improve their Spanish during the morning. Individuals are placed in groups at their respective levels as well as participate together in cultural and entertaining activities. This gives them an opportunity to interact, talk and really get to know each other again.

Possible activities include:

• Organic farm visit
• Latin food cooking class
• Biodiversity institute and farm visit
• Organic gardening
• Tree planting trip
• Fruits and vegetables of Costa Rica at the Central market
• Coronado's cloud forest walk
• Coffee plantation visit
• Arts & crafts workshop
• Children's Museum visit
• Parque Nacional de Diversiones – National Amusement Park
• Visit to a recreational sport center.

Accommodation

To increase your Spanish at a faster rate, we recommend that you live with one of our lovely host families. You will be integrated in daily live of a true Costa Rican family. There you will get half-board, laundry service and a great experience of cultural exchange.
